Pixi Book of Beauty Review & Swatches

PR Sample|Affiliated Link

Hi loves, today I have a very exciting review on the new Pixi Book of Beauty palette. I love palettes that contain both face and eye products and this palette was created for those minimalist looks. This palette comes with two highlighters, one blush, one bronzer, two shimmery eyeshadows and two matte eyeshadows.

The two highlighters that come in this palette both have a different hue to them. The first highlighter is more of a champagne highlight and the second one is white with a golden/blue undertone. I found both highlighter to be fairly pigmented. The first highlighter was very creamy and soft feeling, as for the other highlighter was a little more chalky.

Moving onto the blush, I found it very beautiful. It is a peach blush which would add just a beautiful flush to the cheeks. The texture was buttery but it was a little chalky as well. It was very easy to blend though and wasn't overly pigmented.

The bronzer was my favorite part of this whole entire palette. It was very pigmented with a little bit of shimmery mixed into it. This shade just adds beautiful color to the face to warm it up a little without going overboard. It was not chalky but butter and blended out very easily.

Now moving onto the eyeshadows. Starting off with the two shimmery shades, they were extremely pigmented. It comes with a golden light brown shade and a darker brown. I loved how these blended. However moving onto the matte shades, I was not a fan of them. They were very chalky and did not have good pigmentation at all. You can see in the swatches below that the lighter shade barely appeared on my arm, and the brown was very patchy. I was really hoping that these would have been more pigmented and not patchy.

I loved the first highlighter, blush, bronzer and shimmery shadows in this palette. The matte shadows and the other highlighter did not work out well for me at all. If you want a overall palette I think you would enjoy this, however just be careful that some of the items are chalky. This palette retails for $24.00 and can be found at

MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Sculpting Face Palette Review & Swatches

Affiliated Link|PR Sample

I am so excited about todays post! Conturing has been such a hit within the last couple of years, and MAKE UP FOR EVER recently released 4 new palettes that are for sculpting your face. I have two of the palettes to share with you guys today. I am so happy that they came out with multiple palettes that work with all different skin tones.

The Pro Sculpting Face palette includes 4 different products. You have your highlight shade, contour shade, shimmer shade and a blush. These are cream products, so if you are not a fan of cream products, then you may want to pass on these. Even though the products are cream, I find that they blend beautifully and look really natural on the skin.

I have both 20 (which is for light skin tones) and 30 (which is for medium skin tones). I noticed that both the shimmery shade and blush shade are the same in each palette. The major difference I noticed between the highlight and contour shade is that 20 is more cool toned and 30 is more warm toned. So if you are not sure which one to get, I would say go for the one that best matches the type of undertone you have. Since the shimmery shade and blush shade are the same in each palette, I do not think you would need to get both.

The shimmery shade in the palette is a more of a warm tone shimmery and it has golden shimmery in it. The blush shade is a beautiful peach shade which will be great for the Spring and Summer.

I normally do not wear cream products but I loved the texture of these and they did not make my face feel greasy at all. I actually have been really enjoying using the 20 palette. I find it a lot easier to blend the product out with a dampen sponge instead of a brush. But you can apply at anyway you would like. I just prefer with a sponge.

Also if these two palettes do not match your skin tone, they also have two other palettes, 40 (which is for tan skin tones) and 50 (which is for dark skin tones).

Each palette retails for $45.00 and can be found at

(shade 20 light skin tones)

(shade 30 medium skin tones)

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+ Review

Affiliated Link|PR Sample

When it comes to the weather, I love wearing more of a light weight foundation since it feels like I am wearing nothing on my face, but also gives me some coverage. And that is something I love about the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream. Now wear I live, we still have a little snow on the ground, but it has been slowly getting warmer, so I have been reaching for this a ton. Also on top of it, it does have SPF 50+ so it helps if you are going to be out in the sun as well!

With this CC cream, it is supposed to give you a flawless look without creasing or cracking on the skin. My face is typically dry around my cheek area and where I get break outs, so I love finding a foundation that will not crack on those areas, but also stays put near my oily t-zone. I feel like this looks extremely natural on my skin and does not cake up throughout the day. So far I have worn this for the most time last weekend, which I had this on for 9 hours and by the end of the day it still looked good. I had to touch up a little on my t-zone but that is normal for me with a lot of foundations.

As you can see in the before and after photos below, I do have some acne scarring. And for a CC cream I am really impressed with how well it covers. I do one coat all over, and then if I need added coverage, I will apply more on my acne scars and breakouts. For a CC cream it has amazing coverage compared to others that I have tried. Also this product does have kind of a lemon scent which I love. This will more then likely be my go to face product for the Spring and Summer. And just for comparisons I am in the shade fair.

I also forgot to mention that this product comes with a pump which makes it really nice to get the product out without making a mess!

You can purchase this CC Cream at for $38.00.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Swatches & Review

Hi loves, today I have a very exciting review on three of the new Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks. These were sent to me by Influenster to review. For those of you who do not know what Influenster is, it is a website where you take little surveys that qualify you to review certain products. I have received a lot of stuff from Influenster so I highly recommend signing up if you haven't. Plus its completely free to sign up for! You can sign up here at Now moving onto the lipsticks.

Bite Beauty had recently came out with this new collection of lipsticks, and they seriously came out with so many new colors. These lipsticks are very creamy and have very bold color pay off. They are so pigmented. They also have a very nice, almost lemon scent to them. So if you are not big on scents, you might not like these, but the scent doesn't bother me at all. One thing I love about Bite Beauty, is that there lipsticks are made up of edible oils, so its completely safe to "eat". I know that sounds weird, but I tend to lick my lips a lot, and if you do, you would naturally consume the product that is on your lips, so at least this way, its completely safe to consume.

I have three shades to share with you:
  • Beetroot which is a bold berry. With just one swipe you get such an amazing color pay off.
  • Pepper which is a dusty rose. This color is my favorite because it is such a perfect everyday shade. It's a color that will go with almost every look.
  • Gazpacho which is a true blue red. This is by far my new favorite lipstick. I tend to lean towards more blue tone reds and this one is literally perfect.
I am seriously in love with these lipsticks, and Bite Beauty did such an amazing job. You can currently purchase these lipsticks from and they retail for $26.00 each. I can't wait to purchase some more shades. I have my eye on Meringue and Chai.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation Review

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation|Affiliated Link

I am so excited for todays review! I don't think I have ever done a review on foundation on my blog yet, so I thought the NARS Sheer Glow would be the perfect foundation to review first. I bought this foundation back in November during the Sephora VIB sale and I have been using it almost everyday since. I wanted to make sure I used it long enough to form a good opinion on it, because it is a pretty pricey foundation. Let's just say, this is my holy grail foundation and I cannot live without it now.

The NARS Sheer Glow Foundation has a satin finish with a sheer to build-able coverage. It is very weightless on the skin and leaves such a beautiful finish on my skin. It usually last all day but I do notice that it breaks up a little around my nose after about 6 hours of wear, so I do need to go back in sometimes and blend it out. But other then that, I do not have any problems with it separating anywhere else. My nose just gets super oily during the day. I do have combination skin, so it does feel like on my dry skin, and where I get a little more oily, it looks amazing as well.

The only complaint I really have when it comes to this foundation is that it does not come with a pump. I know you can purchase one that fits it, but for the price, I feel like it should come with a pump.

This foundation retails for $45.00 and can be found at and

I included photos below that show me without the foundation and me with the foundation. I did apply two coats of foundation just to show you how the coverage looks on my skin. I have very problematic skin, so I needed something that had decent coverage. With two coats it does a great job of covering up most of my blemishes. I am in the shade Monte Blanc in case you were wondering.

Tarte Cosmetics Rainforest of the Sea Eyeshadow Palette

When it came to the new releases for Spring, this collection by Tarte was calling my name. This eyeshadow palette is part of the new Rainforest of the Sea collection. And the packaging is the most prettiest packaging I have ever came a crossed when it comes to palettes. Once I saw the packaging and the colors that were inside I just had to order it.

The eyeshadows are feel very velvety and they include ingredients that help hydrate and balance your eye lids. I noticed right away when using these shadows how amazing the texture was. They are not chalky at all and almost have like a wet feel to it. They are very very pigmented and blend easily. In the swatch photo below I literally just dabbed my finger into the product and swiped it. I was very impressed with the color pay off. The texture isn't like their other shadows. I also love that this palette contains a mix of matte shades and metallics. It is a wonderful everyday palette and would be great for traveling as well.

The colors that are included in this palette are: Mermaid (a beautiful gold shade), Seashell (a beautiful light pink), Wave (which is a beautiful taupe shade), Abyss (a dark brown), Reef (a pretty dark copper shade), Starfish (a beautiful bronze shade), Cove (a matte tan shade) and Sand (a matte ivory). I found all of the shades to be equally as pigmented.

This palette comes with 8 different eyeshadows and it retails for $34.00 and can be found at Also, this palette is limited edition so if it catches your eye, you might want to snag it up before it is no longer available.

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Colors Swatches & Review

Hi loves, welcome back to my blog! I am so excited to finally be doing my review on the new Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid lip colors. I had purchased a few on my own, but Maybelline did gift me a couple of shades for Valentines day, so I thought I would share swatches and my opinions on the shades that I own. I have 6 out of 10 shades to share with you guys.

The shades I have are:

  • Possessed Plum which is a deep deep purple. When applying this shade you do have to add a couple of coats because it does apply pretty patchy in some areas.
  • Rebel Road which is a bright red. This is one of my favorites because with one swipe it covers everything and has a nice opaque finish.
  • Vivid Violet which is a beautiful bright purple. This one was a little patchy as well when applying. But you do not have to go over it nearly as much as Possessed Plum.
  • Nude Thrill is a beautiful peachy nude. Out of all of the shades that I have this one is my favorite. It had wonderful color pay off.
  • Nude Flush which is a light pinky nude. This is another one of my favorites. It is a great everyday shade.
  • Pink Charge is a beautiful light pink shade. This one performed really well and did not apply patchy.
According to Maybelline, they state that these have a matte finish, however I find that these are more of a satin/cream finish instead of matte. Also these do not dry on your lips so they feel a lot like a lip gloss and not like a liquid lipstick. I did find they were very pigmented just like the claim, and they do apply very smooth as well. But if you are looking for a matte lip, I would pass on these because they are more of just a gloss. They last for about 3 hours before you would need to apply more product to your lips.

If you were looking to try these out, I would highly recommend checkin out Rebel Road, Nude Thrill and Nude Flush.

These currently retail for $7.99 and they are currently on sale at for buy two get one free. So if you were interested in trying them out, that would be a great way to get them for a little bit cheaper.
