Newborn Must Haves 2019

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be back with another post. Life has been pretty crazy the last couple of weeks! On November 25th we welcomed our baby boy into the world. It has been over 2 1/2 years since we had a newborn so all the essentials finally came back to us! I thought it would be the perfect time to write up some of our favorite newborn must haves.

Activity/Play Time:

  • Bouncy Seat- this is something I would recommend everyone to have right away. We kept the one we had for Mila since she had loved it so much from the first day we brought her home. And now we are using it for little man as well, and he loves it. It makes it easy to just sit him in it, buckle him in, when I am doing laundry or cooking or if I just need to run to the bathroom! They are super affordable as well. This one from Target.com is very similar to the one we have now. And it's only $29.99.
  • Activity Gym- this is actually the same exact mat we used for Mila. We of course kept it and we love using it for tummy time or to just to lay him down when we need to pick up around the house. It comes with cute little ones for them to look at and when they get bigger, they can try reaching for them. This activity gym is currently on sale for $31.99 at Target.com
Diapering/Bath Time:
  • The Honest Company Lotion & Body Wash- there is so many different bath products for babies. We decided to go with The Honest Company this time and we really enjoy the products. We went with the truly calming line and it has a lavender scent. You can get both products in a set for $16.99 at www.target.com
  • Pampers Swaddlers Diapers- just like bath products, there is a lot of different diaper brands out to choose from as well. I have always been a fan of Pampers Swaddlers for newborn babies. So that is what we are currently using. I do have a pretty big stock pile of other size diapers from Pampers and Huggies. But we stick to the swaddlers line for the first month or so.
  • Pampers Sensitive Wipes- I have tried a lot of different wipe brands in the past with Mila, so with little man I knew which ones I was going to use during his newborn stages. I love the Pampers Sensitive wipes. They work amazingly and one thing I love about Pampers is that they have a rewards program which you can enter codes from your diapers and wipes, which will get you points towards free items! I would highly recommend checking it out if Pampers is your go to wipes and diapers.
  • Boudreaux's Butt Paste with Aloe- we had tried a lot of diaper creams in the past, but this time around we went with the Boudreaux's Butt Paste with added Aloe. We haven't had to use it yet since little man is only two weeks old, but I had heard amazing things about this product so I thought we would give it a try!
  • Angelcare Baby Bath Support- I highly recommend picking up this little baby bath support for your kiddo for when you give baths. It makes it so convenient to just put into the bath tub to wash up your baby. We had a different bath tub with Mila and it was just a pain. I like that this one actually goes into the bath tub and you can just add a little bit of water in the actual bath tub. Highly recommend checking out! Target.com has them for $19.99.
Perfect items for when baby gets sick:
  • Mommy's Bliss Gripe Water- this stuff is a life savor! If your baby suffers from gas, stomach discomfort or colic, this stuff will help take the edge off. Little man has been having some bad gas pains, so I give him a little bit a few times a week and it has helped a ton.
  • NoseFrida by Fridababy- if your baby has a stuffed up nose this is perfect to use to get all the snot out. Some people may find it gross since you are literally sucking the snot out for your baby, but it'll help them a ton! We had one with Mila and she hated it, but it for sure worked to clear up some of the congestion.
  • Little Remedies Saline Drops- I have used this with Mila even up to her toddler years. You just spray a couple drops in your babies nose and it helps break up some of the snot to help drain it all out. This works really well with the NoseFrida as well.
Random Items:
  • Swaddles- Mila really enjoyed being swaddle when she was a baby, Corey on the other hand wasn't a huge fan. I still think its something you should have on hand in case your kiddo likes it. We always bought the SwaddleMe. You can usually get a pack of two for around $25.00. They are super nice to use because it keeps the baby all wrapped up tightly and you don't have to worry about them coming undone.
